Cold weather to continue over the island; Climate shift in Sri Lanka?

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Fairly cold weather is expected to continue over the island particularly in Northern, North-Central, Central, North-Western, and Eastern Provinces, the Department of Meteorology stated on Wednesday (02).

Mainly fair weather will continue over most provinces of the island. However, few showers may occur in the Ratnapura District, the Met. Department further stressed.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected over Western and Uva Provinces, and in the Ampara, Puttalam, Kegalle and Hambanthota Districts.

Met. Department further added that the misty conditions are to be expected at some places in the Central Province, and Ratnapura District during the morning.
