Health authorities meet to find solutions to drug shortages

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A special discussion will be held today (31) to probe the shortage of drugs in the country.

Senior Officers of the State Pharmaceutical Corporation and the Medical Supplies Division were instructed by Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

The State Pharmaceutical Corporation had previously stated that there is a shortage of about 200 essential drugs including essential drugs for cancer patients.

The National Drugs Corporation Managing Director Dr. H.M.M Rumi told that arrangements will be made to import these drugs promptly and importing them from today.
