Forensic audit into Central Bank Treasury Bond scam to be expedited

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The forensic audit into the Central Bank Treasury Bond scam is to be expedited, the President’s Media Division (PMD) stated.

At a meeting held between President Maithripala Sirisena, Attorney General (AG) Jayantha Jayasuriya, Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) Sarath Jayamanna, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Ravi Seneviratne, and Acting Governor of the Central Bank Nandalal Weerasinghe on Friday (21), a decision had been taken to expedite a forensic audit into the Central Bank Treasury Bond scam.

The meeting was held at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo to discuss the progress of the investigations launched into the Treasury Bond scam.
