Investigators leave for Hong Kong to recover deleted recordings from Namal Kumara’s phone

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Two Officers comprising Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and a Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and a Government Analyst Department Official had left for Hong Kong on Saturday night (08) to recover voice recordings, deleted from the Operations Director of the Anti-Corruption Force Namal Kumara’s mobile phone.

The CID is currently investigating the allegations made by Kumara that the former Head of the Terrorism Investigations Department (TID), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nalaka de Silva had been allegedly conspiring to assassinate President Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa by using underworld criminal ‘Makadure Madush’ who is absconding Court at the moment.
