(UTV|COLOMBO) – The low pressure area still persists to the South-east of Sri Lanka in the Bay of Bengal.
Several spells of showers will occur in Eastern, Uva, Central and North-central provinces and in Hambantota district.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa province and in Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night.
Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kmph can be expected in the Uva province and Kurunegala district.
Misty conditions may occur at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces during the morning.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
