Low pressure area to bring more rains – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The low pressure area still persists to the South-East of Sri Lanka in the Bay of Bengal, the Department of Meteorology said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Eastern and Uva Provinces, and in Hambantota and Polonnaruwa Districts.

Several spells of showers will occur in Northern Province and in Anuradhapura District.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Sabaragamuwa, Western and Central Provinces, and in Galle and Matara Districts in the evening or night.

Heavy falls about 100 millimetres can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa Province and Kalutara, Galle, and Matara Districts.

Misty conditions may occur at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Western Provinces during the morning.
