Students banned from protesting during school hours

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A circular has been issued to ban students from participating in protests during school hours.

The measure was taken against the spread of extremist views by certain faction on certain policies of the government.

Accordingly, the Education Ministry had received complaints by parents of students which claimed that school children are interrupted when engaging in school activities.

The Minister of Education ordered officials to refrain from allowing any external party to hold a discussion or a speech at school premises without authorized permission.
