IGP leaves for Batticaloa to probe killing of two Police Constables

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara, Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Police Spokesperson along with a special team had left for Batticaloa to probe the killing of two Police Constables.

Investigations have revealed that the two Police Constables, affiliated to the Vavunathivu Police Station, who were found dead at a check point while on duty, were killed by gunshot injuries.

The Police said the CID has commenced investigations into the incident.
