President to hold talks with Opposition Leader, UNF today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena has agreed to meet with the Opposition Leader and the Leaders of the United National Front (UNF) on Friday (30), to hold discussions and reach an immediate solution to the political crisis.

In a statement issued on Thursday (29) by the Office of the Speaker stated that the President has assured Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to hold separate discussions with Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan and UNF Leaders to arrive at an immediate solution to the political instability in the country.

President Sirisena also commended Speaker Jayasuriya’s efforts to find solutions in this regard, the statement further added.
