ACMC hails Speaker’s decision to appoint committee to probe Parliamentary misconduct

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) on Thursday (29) hailed the decisions taken at the session of Parliament by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to appoint a committee to inquire into the recent incidents that took place in Parliament.

ACMC called Speaker Jayasuriya on 17 November to appoint committee to internally investigate unruly incidents that took place in Parliament on 14, 15, and 16 November and we are pleased with the positive response, Leader of ACMC, Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen tweeted.

The Speaker-appointed committee comprises Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri, and Parliamentarians Bimal Ratnayake, Chamal Rajapaksa, Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Mavai Senathirajah, and Ranjith Madduma Bandara.

The committee will carry out internal investigations in addition to investigations carried out by the Police.
