Parliament Select Committee members to be named today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The main political parties are scheduled to hand over the names of their representatives to the Select Committee, to the Speaker today (21).

Nominations for the members of the Select Committee to the Parliament will be finalized today (21), says the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA).

However, a crisis situation has emerged regarding the appointment of the members of the Parliament Select Committee.

This is pertaining to the issue over the political party from which the most number of parliamentarians should be elected to the Committee.

The Select Committee consists of 12 members inclusive of the Speaker.

The parliament general secretary will announce the names submitted , on Friday when parliament meets.

All Activities of other committees, including the appointing of MPs will be carried out through the Select Committee.
