Nov16 2018 will be remembered for two reasons. First is the historic victory for Democracy, Rule-of -Law and Constitutionalism. Second is the brutal exposition of the political barbarians of MR-Junta who will never again be able to fool the masses of this country to gain power

Parliamentarian Harsha de Silva also tweeted stating that “Mahinda Rajapaksa lost the confidence vote for the third time just now.”
Accordingly, the No-Confidence Motion against Rajapaksa and the Cabinet of Ministers, reportedly passed in Parliament with an Amendment today.
The vote on the No-Confidence Motion was taken after an agreement was reached with President Sirisena on Thursday (15) to remove Clause 01 of the original motion which was submitted by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) this week.
The agreement was also to conduct the vote using the electronic voting system or to call by name, however the electronic voting system or a vote by name could not be conducted as a tense situation arose in Parliament with Government Parliamentarians protesting and occupying the Speaker’s seat.
Thereby, a voice vote was taken for the second time and the No-Confidence Motion was passed, it is learnt.
