ACMC to challenge Parliament’s dissolution

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Leader of All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Rishad Bathiudeen has decided to file a petition before the Supreme Court against the early dissolution of Parliament by President Maithripala Sirisena.

“Polls before Constitutionally specified four-and-a-half-years’ violates democracy,” the ACMC Leader tweeted.

Meanwhile, the United National Party (UNP), the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), and the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) stated that they will also be filing cases in the Supreme Court against the dissolution of Parliament on Monday (12).
