Met. Department predicts more showers

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Under the influence of the low pressure system vicinity of Sri Lanka prevailing showery and cloudy condition is expected to continue over the island and surrounding sea areas, the Department of Meteorology said.

General public, Naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive about advisories issued by the Met. Department in this regard further.

Fairly strong gusty winds up to 50 – 60 kilometres per hour can be expected over Northern part of the island. Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the most parts of the island.

Very heavy falls above 150 millimetres can be expected at some places in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, North-Western and Central Provinces. Heavy falls above 100 millimetres can be expected at some places elsewhere.

Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces during the morning.
