(UTV|COLOMBO) – A low pressure area is likely to develop over central part of South Bay of Bengal on Monday night (05). It is very likely to move West-North-Westwards across South-West Bay of Bengal, Sri Lanka and Gulf of Mannar area during 06 – 08 November, the Department of Meteorology said.
Due to this situation the showery condition is expected to enhance over the island particularly in the Eastern, Uva and North-Central Provinces from tonight.
General public, Naval and fishing communities are requested to be attentive about advisories issued by the Met. Department in this regard further.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Eastern, North-Central, Southern and Uva Provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00 PM.
Heavy falls about 100 – 150 millimetres can be expected at some places in the Uva, Southern and Central Provinces, and in Batticaloa, Ampara and Polonnaruwa Districts.
Misty conditions may occur at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces during the morning.
