“Parliament unlikely to meet next week” – Susil Premajayantha

(UTV|COLOMBO) – United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Susil Premajayantha on Thursday (01) stated that Parliament is unlikely to meet on 05 November as Parliament require more time to prepare to meet once it was prorogued.

However, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday stressed that President Maithripala Sirisena would likely to reconvene Parliament on 05 November instead of 16 November.

President Sirisena, last week, prorogued Parliament till 16 November after Ranil Wickremesinghe was removed as the Prime Minister and Mahinda Rajapaksa was appointed to the Premiership.
