Basil Rajapaksa meets Duminda Dissanayake amidst political turmoil

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser Basil Rajapaksa has held a special meeting with his Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) counterpart Duminda Dissanayake on Wednesday (31).

Several unconfirmed reports speculated that Dissanayake has expressed his distress and declined a request to accept a Ministerial portfolio in the new Government, while other sources speculate that Dissanayake agreed to support Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in Parliament.

However, there has been no official statement about the meeting as of yet.

The meeting had taken place at Dissanayake’s residence in Colombo and lasted for nearly two-hours.
