(UTV|COLOMBO) – The CID obtained a statement close to six hours from former DIG of the Terrorism Investigations Division Nalaka de Silva yesterday (23).
However, the former DIG has been summoned to the CID tomorrow (25) as well.
The CID is currently investigating the allegations made by the Operational Director of the Anti-Corruption Movement Namal Kumara that DIG Nalaka de Silva had been allegedly conspiring to assassinate President Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa by using underworld criminal ‘Makadure Madush’ who is absconding Court at the moment.
DIG Nalaka de Silva was sent on compulsory leave and later interdicted by the National Police Commission (NPC) following a recommendation forwarded by the Ministry of Law and Order, while a separate inquiry is in progress over the automatic firearms of the Division that had gone missing.
