Minister Rishad’s security should be tightened – ACMC lodged complaint with Police HQ [VIDEO]

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) on Tuesday (23) request to tighten the security provided for its Leader, Minister Rishad Bathiudeen following the discovery of an alleged plot to assassinate him and several other high-profile politicians.

ACMC Chairman, Deputy Minister Ameer Ali, Parliamentarian Dr. S. M. M. Ismail, ACMC General Secretary S. Subairdeen, Western Provincial Councillor A. J. M. Fayees, and Senior Lawyer Rushdi Habeeb have lodged the complaint with Police Headquarters in Colombo, requesting to tighten the security provided for Minister Bathiudeen.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is currently investigating the allegations made by the Operational Director of the Anti-Corruption Movement Namal Kumara that former Head of the Terrorism Investigations Department (TID), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nalaka de Silva had been allegedly conspiring to assassinate several high-profile politicians including President Maithripala Sirisena and former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa by using underworld criminal ‘Makadure Madush’ who is absconding Court at the moment.

DIG Nalaka de Silva was sent on compulsory leave and later interdicted by the National Police Commission (NPC) following a recommendation forwarded by the Ministry of Law and Order, while a separate inquiry is in progress over the automatic firearms of the Division that had gone missing.
