Angunukolapelessa Prison inmates protest objecting to STF search operations

(UTV|COLOMBO) – A group of nearly 100 inmates of the Angunukolapelessa Prison has staged a protest on a tower in the Prison on Sunday (21) objecting to search operations being conducted in the Prison.

The Special Task Force (STF) had launched search operations in the Prison.

Security measures have been tightened in the Prison following the protest.

The Prisons Department had sought assistance from the STF after it was learned that certain prisoners engage in illegal activities while in Prison.
