India’s Congress Party and Premier discuss maritime issues

(UTV|COLOMBO) – India’s Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi on Friday (19) called on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in New Delhi.

Chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Sonia Gandhi, was also present in the meeting, along with former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Senior Congress Party Leader Anand Sharma, the Asian News International (ANI) reported.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that both sides discussed maritime issues and other regional as well as local issues.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe also invited Rahul Gandhi to visit Sri Lanka and the invitation was accepted.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe arrived in India on Thursday (18) on a three-day official visit. He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (20).
