Defence Ministry Advisory Committee meets after 4-years

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Advisory Committee on Ministry of Defence was gathered under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Parliament, on Wednesday (17).

It is significant that this Committee met after a lapse of four-years and the Members of the Parliament (MPs) irrespective of party differences participated on this occasion.

During this meeting, it was discussed in detail regarding the facts related to the Ministry of Defence.

The Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan, Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Thilanga Sumathipala, representing the Joint Opposition (JO) Wimal Weerawansa, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, representing the United National Party (UNP) Mayantha Dissanayake, Ranjan Ramanayake,S. M. Marikkar, M. A. Sumanthiran, and others participated in this event.
