(UTV|COLOMBO) – Former Head of the Terrorism Investigations Department (TID), Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nalaka de Silva has been summoned to reappear before the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Thursday (18).
DIG Nalaka de Silva on Tuesday (16) failed to appear before the CID, citing urgent family matter. He was summoned before the CID yesterday at 9.00 AM to obtain a statement over an alleged assassination plot.
The CID is currently investigating the allegations made by the Operational Director of the Anti-Corruption Movement Namal Kumara that DIG Nalaka de Silva had been allegedly conspiring to assassinate President Sirisena and Gotabaya Rajapaksa by using underworld criminal ‘Makadure Madush’ who is absconding Court at the moment.
DIG Nalaka de Silva has already been sent on compulsory leave while a separate inquiry is in progress over the automatic firearms of the Division that had gone missing.
