Former LTTErs serving CSD learn IT

(UTV|COLOMBO) – With the avowed intention of further educating former Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) combatants, now serving in the Civil Security Department (CSD) as permanent employees after rehabilitation, the 57 Division Headquarters on the directions of Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) organised an Information Technology (IT) course for 11 of them at the Utility Complex in Kilinochchi.

The 35-day long IT course began on 06 September ended last week with award of proficiency certificates during a brief closing ceremony, chaired by Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division.

Those course attendees, now attached to the Vishwamadu CSD received instructional guidance for the course from Lance Corporal M. A. N. P. T. Manathunge of 11 Sri Lanka Signal Corps and followed it with enthusiasm.

571 Brigade Commander, 57 Division Colonel General Staff, an officer representing Colonel M. G. A. Malaldeniya, Commanding Officer at Vishwamadu CSD and several officers participated in the awarding ceremony.
