Dengue outbreaks increase with climate change

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The prevailing rains experienced in many parts of the country right now have increased the threat of a dengue outbreak.

The Ministry of Health on Tuesday (16) stated that from January to October, 43 deaths along with 39,783 suspected dengue cases have been reported throughout the island.

The districts seeing the most dengue cases are Colombo, Gampaha, and Batticaloa Districts.
