No toxic material found in milk packets distributed at JO mass protest – Govt. Analyst

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government Analyst’s Department confirmed that no toxic material was mixed to the allegedly tainted milk packets distributed at Joint Opposition (JO)’s mass protest held in Colombo.

Colombo Fort and Mirihana Police are investigating a complaint lodged during the JO’s ‘Jana Balaya Kolambata (ජන බලය කොළඹට) mass protest campaign in Colombo on 05 September, in which alleged that contaminated milk packets were distributed among the participants.

Two of the participants have lodged a complaint with Colombo Fort Police, claiming a group in a van distributed the milk packets at Union Place, and produced a packet as evidence.

Those who drank the milk started having diarrhoea and vomiting, alleged the complainants.
